Will Straw is Professor of Urban Media Studies at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. His research focuses on urban culture of all kinds, with a particular interest in the way in which media have represented, promoted and covered the night. He is the author of Cyanide and Sin: Visualizing Crime in 50s America, and of over 180 academic articles on all aspects of urban culture. Dr. Straw is a member of the Conseil d'Administration of MTL 24/24, a group engaged in supporting and developing ways of improving Montreal's night.
